Design

Republic (Retail) Ltd is committed to ensuring all customers are equally able to enjoy our website, including those who are visually impaired. We aim to deliver an interactive website that is designed and built to the highest standards, whilst offering flexibility when viewing.

The Republic site is designed to be easily navigated and legible to all. However, if you experience any difficulty, the text size can be increased. If you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox this can be amended through the 'View' option in your browser, selecting 'Text Size' followed by your chosen size of text.

We have endeavoured to ensure all users are able to view the website in its entirety, however we cannot be held accountable for difficulties experienced by individual users. Any viewing related issues please contact us or call us on 0844 800 1044 and we will endeavour to resolve the problem.

The site has been designed to be viewed at a screen resolution 1024 x 768, and we recommend matching your screen's resolution to this in the first instance before contacting us.

    The Republic Supplier Code of Conduct details our expectations regarding the conditions under which our products should be manufactured. We are committed to delivering good value, high quality products that are ethically produced and manufactured.

    All Republic suppliers are required to commit to our Code of Conduct, which is based on the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code. This sets out minimum standards relating to working conditions, pay and employment rights. The Company encourages all suppliers to improve their fair and safe labour practices continuously.

    All suppliers and contractors are bound to adhere to the minimum standards outlined in Republic’s Code of Conduct detailed below.

    While Republic recognizes that there are different legal and cultural environments in which factories operate throughout the world, this Code details the basic requirements by which all suppliers’ factories must comply in order to do business with Republic.

    Suppliers that produce goods for Republic must operate in full compliance with the laws of their respective countries including those relating to labour, worker health and safety, and the environment.

  • Factories must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  • Factories shall not use any prison, indentured or forced labour.
  • The factory does not use involuntary labour of any kind, including prison labour, debt bondage or forced labour by governments.
  • Factories shall employ only workers who meet the applicable minimum legal age requirements. The factory complies with all applicable child labour laws, including those related to hiring, wages, hours worked, overtime and working conditions.
  • Factories shall set working hours, wages and overtime pay in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Workers shall be paid at least the minimum legal wage or a wage that meets local industry standards, whichever is greater. While it is understood that overtime is often required in garment production, factories shall carry out operations in ways that limit overtime to a level that ensures humane and productive working conditions.
  • Factories must treat all workers with respect and dignity and provide them with a safe and healthy environment. Factories shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding working conditions.
  • The factory complies with all applicable laws regarding working conditions, including worker health and safety, sanitation, fire safety, risk protection, and electrical, mechanical and structural safety.

  • Monitoring & Enforcement

    As a condition of doing business with Republic, each and every supplier must ensure their factories comply with this Code of Conduct.

    If Republic determines that any factory has violated this Code, Republic may either terminate its business relationship or require the factory to implement a corrective action plan. If corrective action is advised but not taken, Republic will suspend placement of future orders and may terminate current production.

    Privacy Policy

    Republic (Retail) Ltd is fully committed to protecting your privacy. All information collected on our website will only be used to process orders and provide you with a more personalised shopping experience.

  • Visitor: Any person who visits the Republic.co.uk website.
  • Registered user: A visitor who has completed the registration process or the press & media registration process on the website.
  • Newsletter subscriber: A visitor who has submitted their email address in order to receive email marketing communications from Republic (Retail) Ltd.

  • What information will be collected?

    When browsing the site all visitors will have the opportunity to register with Republic as either a ‘registered user’ or ‘newsletter subscriber’. This information will help us better understand your likes and dislikes and enable us to personalise your shopping experience with us.

    In order to make a purchase with Republic, all customers will be required to register, by entering their personal details. By registering with Republic you agree to the terms and conditions laid out, of which this is part.

    Details collected upon registration will include your name, e-mail address, postal address & telephone number. We will also monitor registered customers’ site usage, purchasing and traffic patterns to improve the functionality of our website design in addition to the products and services offered.


    How your details will be used

    The data you submit will be used by Republic and our processors to fulfill your order and also to notify you of any functional changes.

    When registering with the site you will be required to indicate whether you want to be included on our mailing list to be kept informed of exciting new offers & products. In submitting your email address to subscribe to our newsletter you agree to receive such communications.

    Your details may also be shared with our approved branded partners to keep you informed of their special offers. Republic will not pass your details to any third party without your express permission.

    Please Note: All personal information held by Republic will remain private and secure; this includes card details & personal information. Card Details will not be passed to third parties.

    If you would like to register but do not wish to be notified of Republic offers, or you do not want your details passed to a third party company then you must select this preference in the registration process.


    Checking your details

    If you would like to verify your details held by Republic, you can make this request by contacting us using the email account you registered with. We would strongly recommend that you do not use the browser's password memory function as your personal information would be accessible to any third parties who may use your terminal.


    Unregistering

    Marketing communications

    If you opt to receive offers by email, then we will automatically alert you to our latest offers and promotions whilst keeping you abreast of when we are in Sale & and as and when new brands arrive in stock.

    All registered users and newsletter subscribers have the opportunity to unsubscribe at any time by contacting us or by modifying your preferences in the ‘My Account’ section of the website, or by following the ‘unsubscribe’ link contained within all such emails.

    Your email address will also be used to confirm when an order has been received and to update you on the progress of your order. We may also contact you via phone or mail if we feel this is necessary.


    Advantages of registration

    Registered users can take full advantage of our site and utilise all the features offered, however, it is not a necessity to register to browse the site.


    Cookies

    Republic uses cookies to gather information on site usage; however this information does not include ANY personal or financial information.

    A cookie is not harmful to your PC; it is a simply a piece of text. It is not a program, or a plug-in. They cannot be used as a virus, and they cannot access your hard drive. Your browser will save cookie values to your hard disk if it needs to, but that is the limit of the effect on your system.

    You have the ability to turn off the use of cookies on your browser at any time, however by doing this you may also lose some of the functions available on the website.

    Product Information

    We have made every effort to accurately represent the information and colours of products on this website. However, as colours vary between different monitors, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display will accurately reflect the actual product colour.

    We will take every care to ensure that product information and pricing are accurate at the time they are entered.

    All sizes and measurements are approximate and we advise customers to consult the sizing charts when ordering as fittings may vary, especially between different brands.


    Ordering from republic.co.uk

    All visitors purchasing goods from republic.co.uk are required to register as a customer. This is a short process in which personal information required (see our privacy policy) will be collected in order to process the order quickly & accurately. When placing an order the customer must ensure that their email address entered is correct & their mail box is in full working order so they are able to receive confirmation emails that are sent once their order has been accepted.

    Contracts formed between you (the customer) and republic.co.uk (the retailer) will be governed according to English Law, and as such, disputes which occur shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

    Please ensure when purchasing items that you are aware of the total purchase price. This amount will be confirmed to you on your confirmation email, and queries regarding pricing should be raised at this point. You are responsible for checking prices at the time the order is placed as prices are subject to change without notice.

    Prices shown on the site are inclusive of VAT; however, you should be aware that an additional delivery charge is applied. The total amount payable, including delivery charge, will be displayed before the order is confirmed by the customer & the order is placed. Details of our delivery policy can be found on our Postage & Delivery section.

    All products are subject to availability. If an order is placed and an item is not in stock then an email informing the customer of this will be sent & the order will be cancelled for that item.

    If the item formed part of a multiple order then additional items on the same order will still be dispatched, and the cost of the out-of-stock item(s) will be refunded. If the out of stock item was purchased as part of a multi-buy promotion (such as 2 for £30, 2 for £50 etc.) then we will refund your card at the promotional price (e.g. £15 or £25) so that you still receive the remaining item in the offer at the promotional price.

    The payment card will be debited immediately after the order is accepted. Therefore if any item is subsequently cancelled a refund will then be credited back to your account.

    When an order is placed by the customer a confirmation email will be sent which acknowledges receipt of the order placed. It is not an order confirmation or order acceptance.

    By placing an order via the republic.co.uk website or over the telephone the customer agrees to purchase the item(s) in question. Acceptance of the order takes place once the order is dispatched and a confirmation email is sent. The contract formed at this point relates to the products listed in the dispatch confirmation email, and Republic is not obliged to supply any further products (regardless of order time) until a confirmation note has been sent to the customer.

    We reserve the right to refuse an order. Such refusal may arise from, but is not limited to, the following situations:

  • The item requested is out of stock
  • We are unable to authorise payment for the order
  • An error in the item information, including pricing or promotion details

  • Registration

    All purchases on the website must be placed by a registered customer. By registering as a customer you are confirming that you have read & fully understood the terms & conditions laid out.

    The registration process will require personal details which must be completed & accurate for orders to be processed. Failure to provide accurate details can result in a delay or cancellation of your order.

    Email/SMS communications

    Registered users who opt in to receive email/SMS communications and users who sign up to receive our newsletters may unsubscribe from these communications at any time by:

  • unchecking the relevant boxes within the 'My Account' section of the website
  • clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ links contained in every email we send (will unsubscribe you from email only)
  • contacting the customer services team on contact us or 0844 800 1044.

  • Delivery

    Once an order is placed you will be sent notification that we have received it by email.

    We will endeavour to dispatch all items ordered before 5pm on the same working day (Monday to Friday). Once dispatched, items should be delivered the following day, except for orders placed after 5pm on Friday or over the weekend.

    These will be delivered on Tuesday of the following week. We do not dispatch or delivery on UK or Scottish bank holidays.

    Delivery will be attempted according to the terms and conditions of the carrier. Any subsequent delivery attempts or refusal is the responsibility of the customer and as such all charges incurred by Republic (Retail Ltd) will be passed on to the customer.


    Responsibility

    The responsibility for the goods transfers to the customer upon delivery, except in cases where the products received are damaged or the incorrect products have been delivered by us. Liability for items which are lost or damaged after delivery will belong solely to the customer.


    Ownership

    Ownership of the products will pass to the customer on delivery of goods or upon receipt of full payment (including postage costs) being received by us, whichever is the later.


    Price

    Prices shown on the site are inclusive of VAT; however, customers must be aware that there is an additional delivery charge to be added for all goods. The total amount payable including delivery charge will be displayed before the order is confirmed by the customer & the order is placed. Details of our delivery policy can be found on our postage & delivery section.

    Prices are liable to change without notice, however product price changes will not affect orders which have already been placed and an order dispatch email has been received. If the price of an item is reduced after an order is placed the difference will not be refunded.


    Promotions

    Certain items on the republic.co.uk website may be available as part of promotional offers such as multibuys or in sale. Republic (Retail) UK reserves the right to modify, alter, discontinue or terminate such promotions at any time for any reason whatsoever without notice to end users.


    Payment

    By purchasing goods using a credit or debit card you are confirming that the card being used is yours & that you have no objections to us performing any authorisation checks which we deem necessary.


    Returns

    Goods can be returned to us, in saleable condition, for a refund for the following reasons:

  • If product is faulty.
  • If the wrong item has been dispatched.
  • If you have ordered the wrong colour or size. Postage will not be refunded and any additional carrier costs to Republic (Retail) Ltd will be deducted from the refund value.
  • If you do not like the product that you ordered. Postage will not be refunded and any additional carrier costs to Republic (Retail) Ltd will be deducted from the refund value.
  • Items cannot be exchanged on-line unless purchased within a promotional offer, however you can exchange goods at any of our stores.

    If you would like a different size or style you must return the original item and then order the new item online, postage cannot be refunded in this instance.


    Returning bikinis and swimwear

    All swimwear must be returned unworn, and bikinis must also still have the protective liner in the pants.


    Returning goods to our stores

    If you decide to return a product to store there is no need to call customer services for a returns number.

    Return the item purchased to one of our national stores, please use the store locator to help you find your nearest branch. Goods can only be returned by the original purchaser.

    Orders paid using PayPal can only be returned to us via post.

    You must take with you your delivery note as this acts as a receipt of purchase, without this the store cannot process your refund and will refer you to customer services.

    On production of a valid delivery note, the store can either refund your account with the cost of the returned product or you can exchange it for a different item.

    All refunds will be placed on the original card used for the purchase. The last 4 digits only will be printed on your delivery note for the store’s reference.


    Returning by post

    Items purchased online must be returned to our distribution centre or store within 14 days of receipt.

    If you wish to return goods, please contact us to arrange their return, or telephone 0844 800 1044.

    Customer services will provide you with a returns number which needs to be written on your returns note, enclosed in your delivery.

    Please include the returns note with returns number in your parcel. Failure to do this will result in a delay processing your refund. We cannot be held responsible for you returning goods to us without a returns number; this number provides authority for return and identifies the returned item to the customer order.

    You cannot return items bought in one of our stores to our distribution centre.


    Statutory rights

    Your statutory rights are not affected by our returns process.


    Cancelling your order

    Under the UK’s Distance Selling Regulations you have the right to cancel your order within 7 days of purchase for a full refund. To cancel an order you must inform us in writing (email, fax or post) within 7 days of purchase and return the item(s) to us.
